Using your benefits for doula care.
Many San Diego families have more help paying for doula support than they realize. Employer benefits like Carrot Fertility, Maven, Progyny, a doula benefit in your health plan, or your HSA or FSA may cover part of your care.

Does your employer offer doula benefits?
We support many families who are reimbursed through workplace benefits. Common programs include Carrot, Maven, Progyny and Cleo. Some employers also add a doula benefit directly to their health plan. Most people assume these benefits are only for fertility. Many also include pregnancy, labor, and postpartum support, so it's worth checking.

Employer family benefits
Carrot Fertility, Maven Wallet, and Progyny can include doula care, depending on your employer's plan. You pay us, then submit our itemized statement for reimbursement.
Referral programs
Programs like Cleo help members find local doulas. If Cleo refers you to us, ask for written proof of the referral. Some plans require it with every claim.
A doula benefit in your health plan
Some employers add doula coverage to their medical plan. These work like medical claims, with a bill that includes billing codes.
HSA or FSA
Whether doula care qualifies depends on your plan. Many plans require a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor or midwife. We can provide you with a template.
